18th - 22nd JanuaryLeave last week behind and let's step forward together into week 2!English:Watch the video below to learn how to make a 'Fortune Teller' for spellings! Make sure the paper you have is a square - each side needs to be the same, ask an adult to help you measure and cut, or click on the pictures beside the video to see how to create the square shaped paper from normal A4. Below is a print out of a premade fortune teller with high frequency words and actions already inserted (Click to download). I also have a picture of the template so that you can clearly see where to write the spellings etc. ![]()
Over The Moon Work:Gaeilge
Maths - Let's get measuring!Science: Floating and Sinking!Gather a few household objects with the help of an adult, organise them into groups - what you think will float and what you think will sink. Test it out! Were you right? Why do you think that is? Can you explain why some things float and others sink now that you have done an experiment? Use this information to help you design an object that will float! Test it out! Religion:Watch the Grow in Love Video on David and Goliath below and then fill in p. 24/25 in your book. Early Finishing Activities:For anyone who finishes work early, here are some early finishing activities: English: The Blizzard! - do you remember when we had lots of snow a few years ago? Write a short story or draw a picture explaining what you did, your favourite snow activity or how you felt and why! Over The Moon interactive resources may also be fun, you can revise units 1-8 :) Your new story is 'Tom goes to China' - do a little research project on China with the help of an adult. Maths: Measure different items around the house, are they more than a metre, less than a metre or the same as a metre? Measure your height in metres and centimetres, do you know what it was before? Have you grown? Record your height somewhere and check every few months to see if you have grown! Continue to look for and to make patterns! Make 'Guess my number' challenges like I did last week. Irish: Bí ag caint! Look through the vocabulary pages and use as many Irish words as you can during the day! Think of other games you could play using your newly made deck of cards. Make cards according to topic so that you can play different types of snap or go fish eg éadaí 'go fish' or 'aimsir' 'go fish'. Religion: After watching the video 'David and Goliath', illustrate and caption your favourite scene. Comments are closed.
